HORIZON HOUSE DUBAI

The mass is proactive with its placement and formation when it comes to interacting with the surrounding forces of nature. Through conscious design, the Horizon House does not seek to disregard elements such as sun heat and prevailing winds, but rather interacts with them to offer residents a comfortably sustainable experience. The southeast elevation is unglazed to block off excess sun heat during peak hours, create an element of surprise for residents and visitors as they approach the property well as protect the privacy of the inhabitants from the city. On the other hand, the northwest elevation is glazed with glass and polycarbonate sheets to offer a more interactive, free experience by bringing residents closer to the views.

Similar to glass glazing, the polycarbonate sheets are a more temperature-resistant material that is recyclable and cost-effective which will protect private areas for residents and create a beautiful translucent effect. Mostly, this house is a true seahouse as it has direct connection to the sea it faces. From the moment the street gate is opened, one is immediately visually connected to the sea and welcomed by the view. As one moves along the the home, the connection to the sea grows stronger.
